Hi

Can I add liquid calcium to the water when soaking my tortoise?

I'm not sure my tortoise is getting enough calcium. He won't touch cuttlefish. I've left a calcium block for him and he hasn't touched that either. I sprinkle calcium powder on the food but he doesn't seem to like that.

I thought if I added liquid calcium to his bath he might absorb the calcium. Then at least I know he is getting it.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I wouldn't. Just feed him foods that are calcium-rich. Do a Google search and pick out the veggies and leafy greens high in calcium. Then be sure he gets the UVB from either the sun or a GOOD UVB light to help the calcium work.

If he can tell that there is a calcium supplement sprinkled on his food then you're using too much. Just use a small pinch between your index finger and thumb then mix it all up so it doesn't appear concentrated in any on spot.
