Just did a little more research and found out that they could but another question. One of my babies has recently been trying to eat the bark (cypress mulch) I'm not sure if he's just trying to sharpen his beak or what. Anyone ever seen this? Just curious! Ty!

I would keep a close eye on him trying too eat the bark. If you think he is really trying to eat it, maybe switch to coconut coir. It safe in every way.

I do have the coconut coir (about 65 percent of that and the rest organic soil and forest moss)

He recently started doing it....not too often only sometimes. He's the really curious one.
