with the nice weather here and it being quite warm at night now do I still need to run the ceramic heater at night. I'm bringing the crew in at night and not leaving them outside.

Most likely not. I have had mine off during the night, until last night, we got cold again. You should always be checking temps now and then. When warm weather comes outside, it can still affect the inside tort temps. Same when colder weather starts coming in.

What are the enclosure temps, and what temps do you wish to achieve?

My CHE is on a thermostat for 80F. Regardless of the seasons I know that it will turn on/off to maintain my set temp.

What are your temps?

nighttime temps with the CHE have been mid 70's
with the house temp high 60's
they are in an open enclosure inside
they are always buried in orchard grass at night

I also do this and suggest to do the same....you can order one from LLLreptile pretty cheap and it will control the CHE for you

What kind of tortoise/turtles are you keeping? Some actually do well with a regular night time drop in temps, and for them 60 is fine. Others truly need the heat.
