I just got my first tortoise (a 1 year old red foot), and have found that the habitat she has been in for the last year is functional, but less than ideal for controlling the temp and humidity....do you think that changing it up do soon will be too much stress after moving to a new home? If so how long should I give her to acclimate.

Hi JAGATX:

Welcome to the Tortoise Forum!!

What would you like us to call you?

And may we know appx. where in the world you are?

I think it would be ok to upgrade the habitat. The end result out weighs the initial stress factor.

Hello and welcome to the forum..

There will always be some stress when moving into a new enclosure, but like Yvonne said the end result will out weigh the little stress...

Thanks, I'm going to go get out together right now. As for the questions, I'm Jay, and I'm in central Texas.
