Mealworms are actually a bit 'iffy'- the shell is tough to digest- not too many at once.

Chicken and other poultry is fine. To prevent risks of contamination, we usually recommend cooked chicken, but not a big deal. Chicken is my fall-back when I cannot get bugs.

The thing is- in the wild, these guys eat dried carcasses, bugs, feces, etc.- so pretty much ANY meats are fine... in moderation. Weekly, monthly- heck, even a little bit daily- no big deal.
