Hi,

My hermann tortoise has chipped her upper beak on the left hand side. It doesn’t seem to be a large chip but the actual beak chip doesn’t seem to have fully come off and is stuck in between her lower and upper beak.

Should I wait for it to come off or see a vet to remove it?
She is eating and drinking absolutely fine and doesn’t appear to be in any pain with it, I’m guessing this because she is eating all sorts of foods as normal.

I usually give her cuttlefish bones, but I will remove these for the time being.

Should I wait for it to come off or see a vet to remove it?

I have attached pictures of both sides.

Thank you

You could try contacting a local knowledgeable reptile shop as it just needs a file to smooth any sharp edges. Not sure a vet would do much more. Ensure calcium is provided in the food to help new shell growth.
