chipped beak on one side?

my hermann tortoise’s beak one one side is chipped, should i be worried? he eats perfectly fine and i notice nothing new in his behavior. any help apprieciated, thank you!IMG_7301.jpegIMG_7302.jpeg

I’d personally get this looked at as I can see a crack developing on the other side, it’s likely going to happen that side too, the beak looks overgrown, enough that I think it’s caused those cracks to develop, hopefully a vet will be able to slowly trim it down to a more desirable length and stop anymore damage🐢💚

I agree - his beak could become a more serious problem if it isn't evened out pretty soon - it would be best to get a vet to do it, at least to start with, rather than trying to do anything yourself. If you don't have a reptile vet in your area, there might be one who deals with birds, who could help.

The beak cracked because it is too long all over. It needs to be trimmed back a good 1/8" to 1/4" in the front and then have the front tapered back to the sides which should also be made 1/8" or so shorter.

This can take more than one vet visit to accomplish because only so much can be removed at one time so as not to damage the underlying bone.
