Hello all-
My Russian tortoise had a chunk out of her nose when I got her- I'm not exactly sure how old she is. She is a sweet little thing- and I assume it's from rubbing he nose against her old enclosure. It's been a year since I got her, as I thought it would heal in her own.

She looks great and an approximate guess of her age is anywhere from 5-7 years if recently bought from a pet store. Otherwise even older. All just guesses.

Okay- so her nose is fine? It doesn't look infected, I just want to make sure the basking light/ sun won't harm it further (sunburn??) And I got her from Reptiles by Mack at a reptile show in march of 2014. Thanks!!

Her nose looks fine to me as well, maybe its the angle of the pic but I don't see anything wrong. Sun or light should not hurt anyway unless lights are too close to her...

Looks a lovely perfectly fine tort to me, also.
It's natural to worry, better than not worrying, but I can see nothing unusual in that photo.
