I was trying to get pics of my DBT. Unfortunately, the darn guy is such a PIG that I could not get one of him basking, or one from more than an inch away.... Every time he saw me coming, he jumped in the water and came up to the glass begging!

So here are a couple "HI MOM! Whatcha got fer me?!?!" moments

Thanks, he is great I like too that they stay a manageable size, especially the males. They make great pets. So do mud and musk turtles.

They are beautiful, my favorite of the local water turtles here around the Chesapeake Bay,Their skin is so soft it's unreal.Cant keep them legally in MD or VA without a permit. Len

Definitely one of my favorites, and one of those that I have wanted for a VERY long time. I was very happy to get him

Actually I am glad that they are not native here, because everything native that is interesting in these parts is illegal. I would LOVE to keep Spotted turtles, Wood turtles and Blandings, but I can't. Same with Eastern Box turtles (so I settled for Three-toeds, lol.)

Can't wait to find him a girlfriend....
