Hi all, I have a huge bittersweet and nightshade problem around my outdoor tortoise enclosure. It has only gotten worse the more we chop the stuff down. We cant get to the root apparently.
My question that I cant seem to find the answer to is, if I were to use something awful awful awful like Roundup (which I have never in my life used) on these stupid vines this fall after the tortoises come in for the winter will the residue be gone by next season? Some people say it is only toxic to plants and doesnt stay in the soil, others say it is killing us all slowly...
I dont know what else to do. These vines are taking over and I fear one of the tortoises will eat a berry or the leaves one of these days
Any suggestions?
Carole
