Cuttle bone how much, how often?

Gave my new Sulcata a small cuttle bone today, all we could find were
tiny 3 to 4 inch'ers. I took the backing off because I read it should be taken off. Was not sure how much of a piece to give to him, he wolfed the whole thing down.

(12 y/o 75 lbs)

How big of a piece and how often do you all give cuttle bone to your torts?
My boy just wolfed it down like it was going out of style

Most of us just leave one in at all times. They say if they need it they will eat it, if not, they won't. Maybe just put another one in there without really giving it to him. Hope that makes sense. See what others say.

that tells me he needs it!
Some feed stores will sell them in Bulk and they are cheaper then some you find in bird supply sections. I have seem some at Swap meets in pet sections for really cheap, and I get mine there.
Sometime mine won't touch them.. but when they do, they are gone!

ok went and left another in his pen......It's ALL gone!!!
I don't know if the prior owner ever gave him these.

I ordered some tort mauz.... how ever you spell it, looking forward
to making the tortoise Meatball recipe someone posted on here.
