Dear Natrah - Gianfranco Zola was an Italian footballer, who is famous for his brilliance in the game, but also for his charming and endearing personality. He appeared on UK tv a lot in a programme about Italian football,which is how we first knew about him. He retired from playing, but has been a manager for different teams since.When Zola told us his name, it was quite possibly partly influenced by him, as well as by Emile Zola, the French writer, and by the Swahili word for quietness,(there is even a children's song in Swahili with the word repeated lots of times - it was sung to him once by a Swahili visitor who met him on his walk !

Yesterday was mostly overcast, and not very warm, we actually had a spot of rain, I got .31" (8mm) worth of rain, which was a pleasant surprise. PeeWee never made it out of his enclosure, he called off the day for lack of enthusiasm. That jerk Seymour got up, w/o me realizing it, crawled under my bed, and proceeded to make a river for me to swab up, Gr'rr. Oh, well, it had been some time since I last cleaned under there, he made a quick departure out to the patio after that stunt....

Dear Daisy,

Jacky's appointment went well and she had a manicure after catching one of her claws because she was trying to climb on the drain. Yes we did think of you especially as the Forever Friends candle was lit because a dog was put to sleep at roughly the same time that you passed away nearly four years ago.
