Good morning Daisy!

You would have been 82 on the 22nd September alongwith mum. I hope you two are looking after each other. I still remember mum asking my nephews to look after you and Jacky just before she passed away but never did we think it would be me that had to make that awful decision. I still go over the events of the 17th November 2022 and I can remember it in detail it was a truly but for Jacky waking up from hibernation to say goodbye πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”. Coming back to a quiet dark flat because no lights were on in the enclosure but of course Jacky was there and we comforted each other for a very long time.

Love

I’m glad it was you who took on the care of the tortoises. Was your mum thinking of a younger generation in case they outlived the care you could give them? I don’t know what we will do in the future as we don’t have anyone to take over.
Our hearts break numerous times over our lives when our pets have to go on to a β€œbetter place” but you do have many years of good & happy/funny memories of Daisy to comfort you as well as darling Jacky still very sprightly in her old age ❀️

Thankyou Sue. Yes mum was thinking of her grandchildren and I will probably think of my nephews as well or maybe my second cousins (mum's side). The weather is better today but it was this morning and I'm thinking of getting Jacky out of the enclosure tomorrow. Strange weather because when I went shopping there was a lot of mist on the Kent side of the river so I imagine Zola, Angie and Richard have a lot of rain.

Good morning Daisy,

There are some stunning photos on the other thread from Zola. He has a beautiful garden with blue Hydrangeas (mum used to say that they turn blue because of iron in the soil but I'm sure Angie will correct me). Do you remember the pink Hydrangeas by the back of Nana's house and do you remember when she used to pour tealeaves on them in the belief that it was good for them? More to the point do you remember the bedraggled rabbit (Sandy) appearing from behind the Hydrangeas all cold and wet?

Love

Natrah and Jacky

PS: Jacky had a bath and she walking all round the enclosure having been energised. I will take her out of the enclosure after her checkup as soon as I can match the temperatures (providing the vet gives the all clear for hibernation).

Dear Natrah,

My grandma still pours out tealeaves and coffe ground for her outdoor plants. I think actually both of my granmothers do that. They pour the left over tea or coffee from the pot for the houseplants too,

PS My sister found a wounded goldcrest (Regulus regulus) yesterday and carried further away from the path to safety.
