Eastern Box Turtle Hibernation

Hello all,

I have a hatchling eastern box turtle and am unsure of what I need to do to have a successful hibernation. Any tips are appreciated.

Hi Sean:

My baby box turtles are kept up every winter until they are big enough to go live outside full time. Then I put them out in the spring and they can acclimate to the weather as it changes and work it out about how to get themselves ready to hibernate. They are usually about 3 years old before I let them go live outside.

So I do not need to worry about hibernation until it gets a little bigger?
