Edible vine?

I have a hyacinth bean vine and wanted to know if it's poisonous to my Sulcata. He seems to dart at it but I don't let him eat it.
If it is poisonous, which part of it is? Leaves, flowers and pods?
Thank you!

Shoot, I was hoping someone with a sulcata would respond but so far no one has.

Don't panic but the mature beans on this plant develop a cyanide component.

The leaves, flowers, and immature beans are safe but the mature ones need to be boiled before humans and cows can eat them. Kidney beans are exactly the same way and people eat them all the time, we just boil them a bit.

Whether they are safe for a sulcata or other tortoises, I don't know. Their digestive systems are entirely different from ours.

I understand sulcatas will eat just about anything, whether it's good for them or not; hopefully an expert will know if they are safe.

Edible beans when cooked, @Will. Poisonous if raw.

I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with this plant around a sulcata and you know I'm pretty casual about food.

@fer9700, I'm not trying to freak you out; I just don't know enough about this plant to accurately advise you. Some other user may know more but with what little I have read, I would be uncomfortable having it near my own tortoise.
