I PMd you back Danny. I saw the head for a second and it looked grey to me...I didn't see any red at least for that moment! Lol.

Nevermind...they're RES. Head is a little green with faint yellow striping.

That's pretty funny! But at least you've now had the experience of watching turtle eggs hatch. Can't wait to see the fully exposed little critters!

Congratz, I don't remember is this the batch that we are not sure if they are RES or woods?

Yes, these were the eggs that were supposed to be snappers, then maybe woods, and now finally RES. Whoo, talk about confusing lol. Either way it's still egg-citing ;) since it's the first time I've ever incubated. Every little one is a special gift.

Yvonne - didn't I say if you jonxed me you were getting them all? :p :D The one that started to pip now has her head and front half of her shell out. She looks like she's taking a nap now. It must be so egg-saughsting.

So, here is how far we have gotten today. She seems so tired now. Poor little thing. I have to keep fighting the urge to help her though lol. I just want her out :p

Woke up this morning and baby #1 had her front leg out of the egg. Of course by the time I got the camera it was back in. But overnight we acquired baby #2!

Just talked to the fiance. The egg in the middle row - right hand side has a nose peeking out. I can't get pics until tonight when I get hom from work though :(

So, is the mystery over as to what they are?

Looks like a slider to me. :)

Fiance was wrong...it's the egg on the left - not right. It's actually one of the ones I thought wouldn't hatch because it didn't round out like the others. Meanwhile - the first one the pipped is a little booger. I tried to get some vermiculite out of her eye and she tried to bite me like 5 times!! I knew she'd be a stinker though - she's the one that was very active in the shell :D

Here are tonight's pictures. The first hatchling is also trying to come out of the egg now.

Baby #4 - we seem to be averaging 1-2 pippings a day. Update on baby #1, I can't see any yolk around her now. Maybe she'll try to make a break for it today? Baby #2 tried to bite me today...they are so viscious! Baby #3 is just chilling lol.

Baby #4 - this one hatched on the opposite side of the other three. It's the one next Baby #3.

As a side note - I've realized that I could make a very informative report or something with all of thses pics, the candling pics, and the embryo pic lol.
