Valentines in the air ... not only are the torts make'n eggs ...
the " da family " of blues are producing eggs too!
4 from one momma and 2 from another. An interesting note ...they lay them sticking to objects...as you can see in the pics. These four were stuck to the glass .... so will need to be covered up , so the young'ns don't become a meal ticket for the parents.:p

What is the best way to cover the eggs? My BF has these geckos too, he found a baby in with them and took it out before it became dinner. Poor little thing died 3 weeks later. If you have some information on these little guys could you share it? Not alot on them. Also looks like they have mites, how do you get rid of the mites? The geckos seem so fragile.

Lygodactylus williamsi , aka ELECTRIC blue gecko is an endemic lizard species found only on Pandanus stem in Kimboza forest reserve in Morogoro region. Due to small remaining portion of these coastal forests, they are disappearing at an alarming rate. Forests in the coastal zone amount to only 13% of the zone and 75% of these forests are reserves.
Your right about the mites, most of these are imports as this is a relativity new lizard in the hobby trade. If your certain your gecko has mites , a safe way is to give it a soaking
( in a covered container ) several times a week . For your eggs that are stuck on the glass, the best way if possible is to cover them up with a small clear plastic dish taped to the side of the tank. This species can be incubated in the same housing as the adults, but may fall as an easy meal too! If you have the chance to remove the eggs you may do so as well and put them in the bator’. I have both cooking right now in the tank ‘ and in the incubator. Incubation time is 60-90 days. Eggs are laid 2 at a time . One really cool idea is to use a thick bamboo, and or pvc pipe…as deco in the cage, thus the female can use them as “ lay hides” .. and when she lays inside of them you can remove the whole object safely into another hatching site. My colony consists of 2 males and 3 females and were obtained from a friend of mine in Germany , they are captive bred now into adulthood and have produced the last 2 years . You should keep males separate as they will fight to the death . Males are an electric blue / cobalt purple ( and they do “ color up“ like chameleons‘), with ultra cool black designs in their face. Females are usually a dull tan, to some pretty greens and both have an orange belly. Young males sometimes look like females and but almost always are male. Females are very hard to come by. It looks as they are going to stop importing these if anymore into the US .. Why I snatched up these guys last Xmas… “ a present to myself” ….

Hope this helped ……

Thank you for the info. My BF bought them on craigs list. He has these electric blue mating pair and a different male in a separate terrarium. He bought all three geckos and and 3 terrariums (the two all set up with plants etc) for $60
