So, things were going grate.
Everything was getting into place and it was looking better and better.

Got my ligthfixtures for almost nothing and UVB and light arrived.
Started to get everything in order made the light-ramp and connected everything. Looked great.

Well, then we have this here thing with the substrate!
Going to have to get some more in town tomorrow as you will see on the pictures.

I belive it came out better then i thought it would. I really hope the little guy will be happy in his new home when its all done tomoz.

The digital readers you see on pics will be drilled through and sealed one for each temp zone. Right now im just recording temp readings to see if things are ok. They also record humidity.

So, heres the pictures as it looks today.

If you can, fix the clamp lite by hanging it. The clamps tend to fail and can cause injury or worse. Also, if that clamp lite is for UVB, remove the plastic cover that is over the bulb, UVB won't go through plastic. If its just for lite, then it's fine. I also think a plant would be nice too.

i'd probably fill the sunken area with substrate so that it will line up to the second level. i'd also buy a small clay pot, turn it sideways, and bury it halfway to use as a hide where you placed the hay. the hay could probably go in the pot.

i would do this too... it could let your tort dig in and burrow on the deep half if it wants plus i didnt see a way for tort to reach the top level? but maybe there is a way i just didn't see it in the pictures??

Thank you all!

Well deep end "should" be in line with the higer one. I just ran out of substrate lol !
I am getting more today so it will all be level. I made one end deeper for
him to burrow and one end more shallow just so not have to have "to" much substrate. Well guess i was being a lill cheap :(

About why he is in the box without all the substrate???
I just have to say that this little ready patch in the new box must be like going from hell to heaven for him.
When it is all done later and substrate is all over i dont know if he will think he's in a alternate reallity.
The old lill box i got him in IS that bad, i just HAD to move him when i could.

Clamp lamp is a baskingspot one. No plastic on it, its a heat protection netting.
In the light ramp you have two lights, a UVB and a "ordinary" soft light (or day light).

I was thinking i should have the hay in his Hide? You should be able to make it out on the left of the box?
Should i have another hide like you said on the right to? Mabye a plantpot?

Plantation of the box will be done, i hope next week. Im just having a hard time getting into town.

The tort had a blast last night i belive tho. Made his own little hide by dragging some hay with him while burrowing.
So found him about a inch down this morning.
Temps on both sides last night 20c to 22c.

Thank you about the information about the clamp light.
I actually got the same info yesterday from pet-store. I have secured it with a special type of nails ( is in the shape of a U )for now. until i can make a fixture for it. Thank you for reminding me about this.

Thank you all for the help im getting here. Dont know what i would have done without you all!

Thank you!

Dan.
