Tortoise eyesight, how good is it? Just sat here at 11:42pm at Phillips table, he's safely taken himself off to sleep in his hide, as per. Just curious as to what their range is in the dark if anyone has any ideas? No threats indoors of course but in the wild if something disturbs them mid snore how well do they cope?

I can not give you scientific notes or anything....however, I have had to move a tort in the night from time to time and each time the tort was aware of what was going on...but not willing/interested/able to get away---I personally believe it is due to night as well as their body temp has cooled in the evening so they are not so spry....

I know that the CDTs and the RESs have keen eyesight, while the Redfoot Torts seem to have super smell capabilities more over than their eyesight....again, limited species pull here to offer up a real comparison...but sharing what I have observed personally here....:D
