This is just one piece of info I found.
Yes, figs are high in sugar. I personally would not feed.
Fresh figs
  • A medium fig (2 ¼ in) contains about 8 grams of sugar. A serving size is about four figs, so the sugar can add up quickly.
    • Dried figs
  • Depending on the type of dried fig, a serving can contain 19–26 grams of sugar. For example, six dried figs contain 24 grams of sugar.

Figs have good Calcium to Phosphorus ratio. But ripe figs are really high in sugar, that's true. We may ask Bill (zovick) how to feed fruit to herbivorous tortoises and not to screw the things up. However, it's easier not to feed figs.

If I remember, Barbara (wellington) tried fruit once with her leopard and it was a disaster. So even one piece may not worth it.

Thank you everyone. I will Not risk it. More for Paxton (desert box turtle) and my snails. I have had Ink way too long to risk it.

Nope, not me. I have fed fruit. Watermelon on really hot days. Usually once a summer, sometimes twice. But we all know it's mostly water.
However, I never have looked up it's sugar content. I will now though.
Also, I would never feed a baby fruit, only the watermelon to adults. Not even sure if we are talking a baby or adult. But still wouldn't.

Ink is 18 years old. However I am not going to do that and stick with the variety of toppings I bought from Kapidolo farms.

Okay, watermelon has 17 grams per slice. When I eat it, it's one whole round slice.
My tortoises get about a 1/4 of that among the 3

Well, if you ever do, I wouldn't, but dried and over ripe is more sugar then just ripe and fresh.
