i have one of those too in my enclosure i thought the same thing that it couldn't be climbed well almost once a day i'll look over to see my tort standing on top of it looking straight at me like "i'm the king of the mountain" it's funny watching him get off tho because he goes all or nothing and dives straight off lol hasn't flipped yet. i have the pot partially buried so its lower to the ground

I have a plastic flower pot with ridges on the sides, so my tort can easily climb without the risk of flipping. How do you get those nice plants to grow in the hot? (I just killed another one. Shocker, it wasn't my tortoise this time :p )

Haha! Not your Tortoise! :p

I grow them nice and strong in a sunny window then transplant them. And I roll my enclosure into a sunny window every couple days. I don't feel like the heat affects the plants as much as the amount of light. I noticed the closer the plant is to the UVB, the better it does.

I put a shiny bucket in my redfoot's enclosure once, and she kept trying to walk through the back of it for at least 2 hours. I could hear her scratching and trying to push through. I'm guessing she could see a reflection?

Yes, he is USUALLY the culprit! Hmm, all right, higher humidity helps too right? I keep him hovering around 70% but I do let it drop into th 40s50% for a 'natural' feel :D I wonder if the type of UVB would make a difference. Like, I saw a thread on special grow light for plants, but I like having one lamp! hahaha

I just have a zooMed (I think) UVB with 80 degree temp and 85% humidity. But I also give them a sunny window sometimes.
