Just want to say that nobody told me how badly tortoise poop STINKS!!! just thought I would share that...

That is hilarious. Betty pooped twice in her bath tonight. I call her a man pooper. She doesn't tiny little petite tortoise poop, she big hairy man poops. :p

Yes it does smell, i was informed when i first joined.

I can't say I've ever noticed. I think it must constantly be masked my the smell of damp soil... :p

What kind of tortoise? Although mine eat almost identical diets I find the leopards smell far worse than the sulcatas. Honestly I don't find the sulcatas smell much at all, but it cold also just be wafting out into the great outdoors before I notice...

Honestly as a rule, I don't notice the smell much from any of them. The amount of smell will depend on what they are eating, how big they are, how warm it is, if your inside of an enclosed space. Having worms can also increase the smell.

My russian pooped her bath last night and I was literally dry heaving because it smelled so bad. I have a weak stomach but omg.. She pooped three times and two of the times I didn't even see it (I was turned away washing dishes) and I knew by the smell.
