Getting a tortoise!! Need Help

Okay first off, Hi!!! I'm new to tortoises and I need help choosing a species! I am 15 years old and am looking for a colorful hardy species. I also want a semi-energetic species that can be housed indoors. If possible I want one that will bond with me and recognize me!!

Also I would like to know the basic care of the species you are recommending me as well as how to make a good enclosure for one!! Is there a certain diet(be descriptive please)? Thanks for reading! Looking forward to reading responses!!!!

I hope you have thought long and hard about this, a tortoise is a life long commitment not like a dog or a cat where you will be looking at around 15 years... tortoises can outlive humans if properly cared for. So it is not a choice to take lightly.

Russian tortoises are good 'beginner' tortoises they stay relatively small and are pretty hardy.
