Gnat problem

Does anyone know how to get rid of gnats that wont harm my tortoises? I built a new enclosure and they were everywhere the next day. I have soil in the enclosure that I put in there because I planted a lot of seed. Are there any type of sprays anyone uses or anything else that gets rid of them?

use fly paper (above the enclosure, but make sure it won't fall in or your tort won't get it)
and dry out all the soil in your enclosure (use newspaper while its drying)
