Hello, I have to go out of town unexpectedly. Unfortunately for a funeral :-( can my Russian and Boxturtle go for four days without food? I'm comfortable with two days but for seems to be pushing it. My lights are on timers. should I just give them a large portion before I leave?

Sorry for your lose. Large portion is what I'd go with. Make sure water is filled, maybe an extra water dish. I'm glad you've got it all automated. I tell people to always have things automated for this type of reason, (fine, and because I'm lazy)!

Okay, large portions it is. I am glad I put the lights on a timer, I didn't realize how easy it would make my life. and it is definitely handy for this type of thing.

Add a bunch of worms to your box turtle's substrate and he can hunt while you're gone. Buy some of those lettuces that have roots attached and plant a couple of them in your Russian's habitat.
