Just thought I'd share.

Shackleton had his annual "end of the summer" check up yesterday. I make this a ritual to ensure that he's got nothing working against him as we get into the winter.

His doctor is great, an exotics specialist, works with the Bronx Zoo, etc. She's been seeing him for a number of years now, we even followed her from one practice to another to maintain the relationship.

Anyway, as expected Shack found the physical to be the low point of his day.

The obvious stuff, which naturally I monitor anyway:

His weight was good, about to the gram the same as last year. No other obvious potential problems (external parasites, eye/ear/nose issues.)

The stuff I can't/don't do:

Palpation found no bladder stones. Both the wet-slide and centrifuge fecal tests showed no parasites.

So, good news all around. We celebrated with a little "Spring Mix" and a nap in the sun. :D
