So I decided to TRY and make spud an underground hide.
I went and looked on the recycling for some materials. I found a big milk carton.

I cut it in half and washed it out.
Then I put it in spuds enclosure and covered it over

Do you think I should leave it in there? Do you have any better ideas on how to make one? Thanks!

It looks great! I would cap the corner with something a little more substantial than paper though. A piece of wood, or another piece of milk bottle perhaps.

Yeah, the paper is just for now. I also hope to make him a stronger hide as the milk bottle dips a little with the soil ontop.

Most people use a flower pot half sunk into the earth to create a shelter. It's more rigid
Go to local garage sales and see if you can't find a really cool looking one. Or try goodwill, but this time of year they may be picked over already.

or even just a shufti around your garden shed, attic, or cellar, if you have such things, a bit of imagination and you could be lucky.
But make sure it's tortoise safe, of course, and hasn't been used for storing something nasty.
