Hi everyone!
I have 3 adult reds I've had for a week n a half.
They have been mating for months now & the guy I got them from said that she hasn't ever laid any eggs. Yesterday I measured the torts to see how big they are my female is 12 1/2" long smaller male is 11" large male is 14 1/2" long
My question is can and do reds lay eggs whenever? Certain times of the year?
I'm not ready for eggs yet I'm going to order a incubator and get it all set up for when the time comes. He had the group for 5 years and they have been mating like crazy since I've had them. I read that they like laying there eggs in mud or moist areas and I've been watering every day because I'm growing grass from seeds. Also last two days its been raining.
The cheapest incubator I've found is $44 with fast free shipping.
None on Craigslist they also have some at tractor supply here in town.
Is this around the cheepest price?
