Quick Question :

Are you Able to grow grass, seeds in coco fiber substrate with a uvb bulb?

Or Do you need to have them in pots and have a special bulb?

I have done it, just watch the amount of seed you use, can get a bit wild if your tort doesn't eat it right away...

Whenever I tried growing seed in the substrate, the plants got leggy, so now I grow it separate and use a fluorescent lamp over it.

I grow mine right in the coir substrate and in dishes with coir. No special light, just the MVB. The grass is the only thing that gets long, he eats the rest, won't touch the grass:D
