OK so I've had Booyah for a little over one year now, When I bought her from the local pet store they told me she was about 6 years old so I figured she was about full size. I have no idea what a normal growth rate is but I thought it interesting how much she has grown and how fast she is growing. I started weighing her in February 2018, what follows is the records of her weigh ins. These are always done after a soak and purge. she gets soaks every day, anything less than a soak every other day and she gets less active, loses appetite and spends a lot more time in the hide. She has a very predictable daily routine but it does vary from summer when she spends more time outside starting about June to winter when she's inside starting about October.
I wish I would have taken some size measurements because she is noticeable larger, especially her height.
What I can say is she started out with a half log hide that had a 4" wide opening and she fit in there with a little wiggle room, now she's to wide to get in there at all so we had to buy a new hide with a 4.5" opening and she now rubs the sides getting in it. She's very active and outgoing with a big appetite, her diet is any combination of store bought, grown in the yard and bought from Kapidolo Farms (Thanks Will) fresh spring mix, collard greens, radicchio as the base with a sprinkling of any combination of dandelions, mulberry, plantain, moringa, alfalfa, timothy hay. We have tried the hibiscus and cactus chips but those will always be her last choise.
