I'm going to try and start a thread. This is a picture of one of my female p.babcocki raised here on the Maui North Shore. If it works I'll post more pics of my small collection. - Aloha

She is 15 years old, 16" SCL and I believe she weighs 23 LBS, its been a while, I will have to weigh her again. Thats a 10" SCL male that has been in hot pursuit for about a week now

what does SCL mean?

You measure a tortoise from front to back in a straight line, not a curved over the carapace line. So SCL stands for straight center line or straight carapace length...take your pick.

I was close she wighs 24 pounds. My other larger female weighs 30, I just weighed them both

I've had them since they were hatchlings. I have been looking for old photos of them to scan and post. The males in the group I got recently (within the last 5 years). Thanks for checkin-em out.

Yes they are Hawaii raised. I think they even speak pidgen between them.

Aloha! VERY nice leopard there. Can we see a side profile shot of the leopard? Some of us are obsessed with smooth shelled leopard tortoises and your's seems nice and smooth. I would imagine with all the humidity there you wouldn't have too work too hard to keep them smooth.

Thanks, but I'm not sure I can take all the credit. I got into tortoises durring the keep them hot and dry era over 20 years ago. I would also like to say that keeping tortoises here is easy. I might catch some "your an irresponsible pet owner" suff, but we have gone on vacation for 6 weeks and left them unattended. We do, however, get alot of rain here in this part of Hawaii over 75" a year. They get their once a week look over and their 8mo panacur and thats it.
