my 1 year old sulcata tortoise is sleeping most of time and won't eat is this normal?

Sounds like you need to read the "Important Threads" at the top of the sulcata section. We have some very interesting new findings on how to care for young sulcatas Read the threads then make adjustments to the way you care for your sulcata.
In the meantime, soak him daily and make sure your temperatures are up where they belong. A cool tortoise won't eat because the food won't digest if they're not warm enough.

well i don't have a thermostat but he has a 60 bolt watt
How long have you kept this tortoise? Was he eating normally and has only recently stopped eating?
