Heat and tortoise dilemma

I think my tortoise has been in the sun too much and is acting weird what do i do ?

If your tortise is overheating, then it seems that it's trying to find shelter from the heat. Spray some gentle water on it, maybe give it a soak in luke warm water (don't shock it with ice cold water) and give it shade from the sun would be my guess.

Get you some potted plants and put in it's enclosure for shade .

This is all excellent advice on keeping your tort safe from overheating and I would definitely add a deeply shaded hide to that enclosure. But, for what it's worth, my DTs dig themselves little holes all the time in their burrows. It is a way to keep cool on a hot day, but I don't think it means they've been harmed. Mine climb out of the holes an hour or two before dusk and munch on their weeds like any other day. In addition to all the good advice above, I recommend popping a thermometer in there to keep an eye in things. I've learned that my burrows tend to be 15-20 degrees cooler than the rest of the enclosure.
