This is my first tortie and I'm a little concerned about the cold front we're expecting next week. My Greek tort has a basking spot of about 100 and the cool end gets down to 75.

We tend to not run our heater much here in central Texas. Next week, we should be getting our first freeze and the day time temps will be 55ish. He'll be good and warm during the day but I'm afraid it'll get too cold for him at night.

Should I get a red heat light or a ceramic heat coil for him? What do you guys do in this situation?

He's a little guy. Only about 5 inches long. He's been eating well but we've only had him about a week.

We just want to make sure he doesn't get too cold. :)

Yep a ceramic heat emitter would be good and thermostat probably to help control temp

Good deal. I'll get him one this weekend. I used them with our bearded dragon but wasn't sure if it would be a good option for the tort too. Thanks!
