Hey everyone, we plan on getting a hermann tortoise, and we are constructing the tortoise table right now, but I had a question about night time heating. What do you all use for heating at night? I've heard of the ceramic heat emmiters, heat mats, infrared lighting... also do you all put your heat sources day/night on thermostats?? Thanks for the help!

It really depends upon your own personal preference. I like to use black lights for night time. However, my tortoises are outside all the time, so in their sheds I also have pig blankets. If your tortoise is indoors, you wouldn't need to go with a heat mat, I wouldn't think.

Nothing! as long as the room doesn't get lower than 60 degree's it's fine :) at night they can handle between 70-60. no lights or heat required :)
As long as the daytime get's to around 80-90's(basking area)
