Hello from England

My name is Jo from the Midlands England.
I have two Herman tortoises named Frankie and Terrie aged 2 years old.
They are female (I was told and looking like it so far).
Everything is good so far and I'm increasing their food list every month through research.
They have hibernated once so far and will do every year, health permitting.

Are they housed separately ?

They are housed separately indoors when cold. Outdoors and they are together. When outdoors they ignore each other but come together in the shade to rest.

Thank you, I will keep a closer look at them to watch for this behaviour. They do need a new outdoor enclosure so will look to seperate them for next summer.
I thought it was male and female that were aggressive towards each other?

No, tortoises of whatever sex do not do well in pairs.
Groups, sometimes work, but pairs don't.
Horrible, horrible hings can happen just when you think they're getting along.
