Hi,
My name is Treeski and I live in NY. My tortoise is a red-footed Tort named Ellie. I think she's a female, but not quite sure. I've had her for about a year now and she's terrific. I've never had a tortoise before, so I happened to find this forum because like many of you, today, I found a white spider-like bug on her shell and wanted to know what it was and how to get rid of it. I believe many of you said that it was a snow flea. I have plenty of pill bugs in my yard, so I am going to try that in order to get rid of them in her pen. I do have reptile shavings in her pen.
At any rate, it's nice to be a part of your forum.

Welcome!

Don't know how well pill bugs will survive in shavings but worth a shot. You may want to switch substrates. Let us know how it goes!

Welcome Treeski! I'm from Philadelphia so I'm right down the road from you! :D I don't know anything about that bug, kinda scared me. I hope it's nothing bad. Keep us updated!
