Hi ya'll!
My name is Susan. I got my tortoise in May. Sparx was a few weeks old then (I think)?
Sparx is a Sulcata and loves to play hide and seek!
Being a new tortoise mommy, I can use ALL the advice I can get.

They are grazers. Hopefully you don't give him too much fruit. Anyways welcome. What's his setup like? Temperatures?

I'm on the hunt for a heat lamp. Suggestions?
I feed Sparx iceberg lettuce and fresh grass from our yard daily. Sparx gets green apples and strawberries for treats.
I'm concerned I'm not feeding enough of the right stuff. Suggestions?

You should have a day heat source with uv. And for night a Che heating source with no light.

Thanks. My tortoise is indoors, because of it's size. I have a large aquarium but what should I put in the bottom?

I use peat moss and over that either soil or cypress mulch. Keeps up the humidity to prevent pyramding. And seem to be more active. Keep him hydrated.

Hello Susan welcome to the TFO from AZ . If you check you'll find Iceberg lettuce is just water no food value . And fruit I give my torts cactus fruit and only the top slice of a strawberry so it gets as much green as red . Well enjoy your cute little tort .
