Found a turtle in my front flower box here in Colorado. It looks like a box turtle but not sure what species. I'm not sure if it is a wild turtle or someones old pet. It looks bigger in the pictures, but it is only about 5-6 inches long I would say. It went away, but came back to the flower box today.turtle2.jpgturtle1.jpgturtle3.jpg

WooHoo I guessed right:). I would put up signs saying found turtle and see if anyone calls and says"are you sure it is not a tortoise" Then have the describe it. Good Luck!

Definitely Russian. And most likely someone's pet, as they're not typically native in the (I'm assuming) US. She could certainly stand a good soaking, in the meantime.

Yes someone's pet, they are not native to the USA, I would put a lost tortoise sign but don't describe it, they are very good climbers which is why you probably find a lot of them out (escapees) since most people who buy one from the pet stores won't know how good of a climber they are.Let me stress if you put up a lost tortoise sign don't describe the animal, to many people will lie n hopes of getting a free tortoise, try to find it's owner but lave out the description of the tortoise.

Try finding his owner, and make him a nice time at your place in the meantime. :D
I hear russians are very nice and active pet-tortoises.

Keep us posted whether you find his/her owner!

Phew ... just had to make sure it wasn't one of mine. ;)
