Today I noticed some skin peeling on my baby’s chin. Is this normal??

Could it be dried food? Give him a soak and see if it comes off.

I did soak him and it didn’t come off. I don’t think it’s dried food because it looks attached to his face and scaly like the rest of that area.

These are the two rescued Russians I have here that are looking for a new forever home. Take a look at the peeling skin on the one:

Yes, that "hat" you see on the one on the right, is a flap of peeling skin!!!

This type of tortoise does a lot of skin peeling, but it helps limit it if you keep them slightly humid/moist.

Wow I had no idea it could look that!! Good to know, thanks!

I keep him in 60-70% humidity and soak him daily, but do remember he was rubbing that area a lot when eating the other day because he kept getting cactus pieces stuck to his face [emoji23]
