Since they're used to living outside in a paddling pool, that's how you should set them up. You can buy small plastic wading pools at Wal-Mart or places like that for about $7. Place something in the middle that they can get up on, and put in some water. Don't fill it so full that they can reach the top of the sides and climb out. Water turtles have to be under water in order to eat.

Greetings and welcome to TFO ~

Yvonne is right, some large rocks or such in the middle of the pool will give them a basking spot ~ you may want to invest in a few water plants for them to swim among {making sure they are weighted down so that the plants are not at the edge of the pool where the torties might climb upon them and get out}

As I recall, my water torts loved eating duck weed. Also, some feeder fish for them to munch upon might be a good idea as well. There are commercial foods that can be purchased at your local pet store for water torties, altho nothing beat the fun of chasing and eating your live food, if you are a water tortie of course, lol.

If you plan to use the filter system you already own, I would suggest putting some fine wire mesh about the "water intake tubing" to avoid clogging the system and burning up the motor of the filter.

I hope this helps you ~ Have a great time with your new buddies!
