Help!

I noticed odyss had this since i bought him. At first i thought it was just an old scar, but it seems to have gotten worse (although I'm not sure if it has or I'm just being paranoid). Could this be shell rotting? Or something else? 😨

From what I can see, absolutely looks as though he has sustained some injury---also, in the first pic--what is that little white thingy in the middle of the damage? has this little one been around where a cat or dog may have had access to him?
