Herman got to go out and soak up some sunshine. He loved it. He is one year old now so I thought I would share some photos on how much he/she has grown. I call him a he but who knows. Thanks for all your help, following your advice he's shell started growing smooth right away.

I would like to make his outside area larger but the ground slopes which makes it hard to lay the bricks.

Oh he's so cute and his shell looks great! Danny (egyptiandan) told me the pink color on the plastron means they're in a 'growing stage'....What a cute dog you have too!

I couldn't help laughing at the picture of Herman eyeing her clearly-too-small half-log hide: "Uh, mom? Could we get a bigger one now?"

And my, what a strong chin he has! Definitely a rugged outdoorsman. ;)

He looks great! You should be proud. :D

Thanks everyone! I am really enjoying him and very happy his shell is looking good. His log looks really small in the pic's but he can still cruse through it ok. I know it won't be long and I will have to make something bigger. I don't know what I'm going to do when he gets bigger I don't feel good about moving him outside we have so many ratcoons around here. They have broke into my chicken coop twice.
