This is Sheldon who we rescued a month ago. I think he is a hermans and has not had the best up bringing. Is anyone one able to confirm this and how I can improve his health and condition. Thanks

He is a Hermann's. Based on the photos most likely an Eastern Hermann's, Testudo hermanni boettgeri. A photo of his plastron would help identify more accurately. Age is difficult to pinpoint with any tortoise and even more difficult with one that has been raised in capitivity showing some accelerated growth as this one does. I'm just guessing here but he looks to be about 5-5.5" long (straight line carapace measurement). Is that about right? With the information currently available he may be anywhere from about 5-10 years old. He really isn't terribly bad looking overall though.
