Hello, My name is Brian and i have 2 Russian tortoises, first is one years old called Kami, and the second is two years old called lumi.

Im new to looking after tortoises, only had them for a few months but loving them as pets.

and thats me, will upload images of torts shortly.

Well thats an impressive welcome

So I'll start by asking you all what the best substrate is, at the minute I'm using a sand/soil mix but the torts can't seem to make tunnels properly, funny watching then try though
So what's you all using?

Welcome! I won't be of much help to you, as I use and love (as do my tortoises) mainly a coir with a little sand substrate as a main base. Some of the enclosures have mulch added or even leaves. The Russians when they are inside, are on the coir/sand.
