In regard to Maggie's post, here is a picture of my young sulcata, “Little Ricky". He is about 20 months old now. Here is a picture of him from is estimated 1yr. bday. ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1401025495.101649.jpg
If you compare your youngsters shell with Little Ricky's shell, the gaps between the scutes on your youngsters carapace indicate a pyramiding habit. This will never go away, but the reasons it developed in the first place can be eliminated and smoother growth will take place making it not as noticeable. Please read Tom's posts in the sticky's section of the sulcata tortoises area to see where adjustments need to be made.
