My local zoo just got 100 matamata turtles. Apparently confiscated from Florida?
Wild looking creatures!

Wow that's gotta be hard to assess what to do with 100 matamatas.

Will, they were not brought in with proper paper work. I will find out exactly what happen when I go pick up my animals out of the group, next week. I was told but cannot remember the exact story. They've been in country for awhile, it's nice they finally got to places that can deal with them, properly. I have a large group, but none from Columbia, they will nice to add. They will also live with us for the rest of their lives.

I have seen exactly one for sale. It was a huge one at a show in Arlington. They wanted $450 for it. To rich for my blood to house and keep one so big. I would LOVE to find a few hatchlings though so keep us posted, please!

The hatchlings are great, you can get one for around $350, I think. I will be at the breeders house tomorrow and will check the status.
