This year I grew some really nice hot peppers. I don't know the names of them all, but, some were long and red, round and red, green, and those HOT HOT ones that are orange. I put them in a jar with some garlic and olive oil, and let them sit on the counter for two weeks. Last night my son wanted to try to eat some. When he opened the jar (which by the way was VERY hard to open) it looked like seltzer when you shake the bottle. It had little bubbles in it and foamed up. No one ate it...thank God...because
I'm guessing it was bad. Does anyone know what I did wrong. Olive oil stays in a jar for weeks before we finish it. I have so many peppers now that I froze some and hung some up to dry. But I don't have a clue what happened. Anyone have any experience storing hot peppers?
