My sulcata use to never eat hay and only want live grass, greens, and mazuri. I was think told by Tom that i should grind up the hay (orchard grass) and moist the grinded hay and then mix it with greens and other foods. And gradually mix more grinded hay each time.

After a few weeks of doing this, i started to mix dry hay and grinded hay with the greens and now i am at the point to where the food mixture is mostly hay.

This technique that Tom told me worked very well and now i can finally say that my sulcata eats mostly hay now! Im still working on my sulcata to eat dry hay without mixing any greens but hopefully soon.

If you don't want to grind the hay down you can get orchard grass pellets from Tractor Supply. 100% orchard grass hay. Just soak the pellets and you are done mine love it.
