There are many "schools of thought" on feeding intervals and amounts with tortoises. For the most part it's what works for the individual as long as they keep the tortoises well being in mind.
When indoors I feed my tortoises every other day and depending upon what the food is, often leave it until the following day. I do this with wild weeds, that dry slightly but keep better the following day. Adults often prefer this. With grocery store greens, that generally all have a very high water content, I remove them at the end of the feeding day because they simply wilt and "go limp" under the heat and light. But while I feed every other day my tortoises also always have timothy hay available to them in their enclosures 24/7 to browse on.
When outdoors I feed every two to three days but always leave the wild weeds in the enclosure between feedings for them to browse on, which they do constantly.
A major part of sucess with their diet is also constant hydration.
